Uno Pizzeria & Grill said it’s providing restaurant-level brand GMs with a pair of round-trip airline tickets to travel anywhere in the continental United States as a way to recognize these leaders work over the past 16-plus months, a news release said.
Uno said that its general managers have dealt with everything from labor shortages and supply chain delays to new customer and employee safety and health requirements and training over the last 1½ years and this is a way of saying thanks.
As part of the offering, GMs must travel by the end of this December and the company is encouraging employees to post pictures of their travels on its internal social media site. Other manager-level employees at the restaurant level will receive travel vouchers and additional rewards.
Earlier this year, Uno began a bilingual vaccine concierge service, which assisted eligible employees in navigating the process of booking a vaccine appointment. Within only a few days of the service operating, UNO helped 87% of its employees secure an appointment. Additionally,
UNO has awarded $50 vouchers to vaccinated employees and plans to continue this support as more employees are vaccinated.
The Boston-based company has approximately 90 stores in 18 states, and the District of Columbia, India, and Saudi Arabia.
